that's so high school
it also made me remember 10th grade, which was actually pretty good. i was fairly happy. interestingly enough, i recall driving all over south central pa with kevin and bobby and the weather being phenomenal. i can't wait to drive around with johnny with the windows down and touring central pa in august.
"let them buy their wedding bands

gotta go to red herring...where we actually are pretty decent. go us.

do good...avoid evil.
i'm officially not trying out for shakespeare. i'll do tech...but for personal reasons, i'm not acting.
i feel a great weight lifted off my shoulders with the end of this play. i didn't even have a huge part, but i'm ready to be free of rehearsals for a little while. i'm directing a one act as well, and i still have improv 101, so i'll be busy. and hopefully i'll have a eboard position to work on as well. crossing fingers and praying. a lot.
i should really start doing homework.
i need a crossword puzzle book. and to clean out my refrigerator. eww.
i'm peachy!

another opening, another show
the opening of "red herring" went on with little or no glitches, so far as i know. the audience seemed to really enjoy the play, even though the audience was comprised of sara allen, lou, pam's roommates, and parents. oh...and michael hollinger, the author of "red herring". he's a local playwright who is nationally known and sometimes teaches at villanova. after the show, there was a q and a session with hollinger, which i think went very well. he was so nice and seemed to be quite impressed with our little play.
tomorrow (sunday) seth and mj are coming to see my play. yay!
i'm now debating not doing shakespeare because there is rumor that the rehearsals will be on friday and saturday. this will not do. at all. if this is true, i probably will not do it.
eboard elections on tuesday. i really hope i get an eboard position, especially personnel. ar and r will work too. if i don't get anything, i'll soften the blow with my forum dvd and my new sweatshirt.
speaking of sweatshirts, i got one of those sweatshirt blankets yesterday and i don't know how i survived without one up to this point.
thank you erin finucane for your well wishes. this entry was in response to your comment.
i'm peachy!

Two posts in one night!
this weekend was spent being sick. which sucked. a lot. I did watch the snow when i wasn't running down the hall to puke. anyway, i missed the first actor/tech rehearsal and i felt slightly guilty about it. but everyone was just concerned that i was ok and that i was going to get better. which i did.
today i went to some of my classes. i didn't want to push myself today and make myself sicker, so i went to two classes in the middle of the day and stopped there. that was good because the minute i changed into my pj pants, i was out until about 5 pm. i got dressed and went down to the union for dinner and rehearsal. gwen was there, so i didn't worry about hanging out alone. we talked and soon sara joined us and then it was time to get ready.
i love my costumes. thank you forever, kelly and amanda. great job girls. i actually get to look and feel glamorous in this show, and not of neutral gender. i feel, essentially, like Lucille Ball. It's pretty fantastic. I got my make-up on and my petticoats and heels and pearls. i went upstairs with the rest of the completely ready crew just so tom could tell us to go home, because due to sickness and disney world (glanzmann!) it wasn't worth running the show. He wanted us to also go home and rest and not get sick (or sicker in my case). fine.
this gave me time to hang out with some people that i hadn't seen in a while: michele and cait. now, you might think "isn't michele your roommate?". yes. but i kinda banned her from the room this weekend so that she would not get sick. she did come to check on me, and we talked this morning just as i was passing out...so i missed the end of that conversation, i guess. lovely evening.

VP Personnel
Hello all, and as you may have gathered, my name is Megan McGee and I am running for Vice President of Personnel for the Masque. There are many reasons why I feel that I am the best candidate for this position, which I will list in this here platform.
There are two things that the VP Personnel is in charge of, namely the cast parties (woo!) and the Induction process. Let’s address cast parties (woo!) first. Cast parties are not just a night where we celebrate the great work we have done as a group, but also a night to get to know your fellow Masque members and alumni. My job is to organize these fiestas, as well as keep them running smoothly throughout the night. I am extremely responsible and feel that I could easily manage to throw an awesome, yet safe, cast party. Some may be concerned with the fact that I will not be twenty-one when I “take office”. Worry not! I will turn 21 shortly after, and we have many members who can help me out until then. Formal is also a big deal in the Masque (just you wait if you haven’t been to one). If elected, I would assist our current VP Personnel, with the festivities and help her in keeping the night moving smoothly. Next year, I would have the experience of this year to throw one hell of a formal, having learned from someone who has done a great job.
The second part of my platform has to do with Inductions and my role as Masque social coordinator. The many traditions of the Masque are very important to me, especially Inductions. However, if something simply is not working, I am willing to change them to make the evening as enjoyable as possible for both the current members and inductees. I loved my Induction experience and I cannot wait to see these newest groups become inducted. I have also constructed the current Masque family tree and care for the history of the group. Finally, as Masque social coordinator, I am the provider of social activities and I serve as a go between for the members and the Executive Board. I am essentially in charge of ensuring your happiness as a Masque member. On that note, I feel I am extremely approachable and available. I know most of the members pretty well and I am currently working on getting to know our newest members.
I realize this was kind of long, but I have a lot to say on becoming VP Personnel. I am extremely passionate about this organization and want nothing more than to serve on E-board for you this year. See you at elections!
Also, if you would like to see the mostly completed Masque family tree OR have any questions for me, feel free to contact me either at peachy.colleen@gmail.com or at the Masque table, where I am at all free periods.
VP Alumni Relations and Records
Hello all (is this sounding familiar?) and welcome to my platform for VP AR&R, also known as Vice President of Alumni Relations and Records. I hope to do a lot for the organization if elected into this position (or Personnel), which I’m going to talk about in my platform.
First of all, the Masque has meant a lot to me in the year and a half that I’ve been at La Salle and I know that it has meant all that and a bag of chips to students here since 1929. The Masque of La Salle is one of the oldest and longest running organizations on campus, which gives it a rich and full history. As VP AR&R, I want to organize this history and begin working on a history of the Masque that would not only include the shows that we have done, but the history of the people of the Masque. I have actually spent the last nine months working on both the Masque family tree (or tumbleweed, as I have begun referring to it) and the connections that each member has to the tree. What I have discovered is that there are a lot of pieces missing, which is extremely frustrating, and something that I hope to eliminate as VP AR&R.
As VP AR&R, I also hope to continue keeping the DVD’s coming to our members, something that our current VP AR&R has done a great job getting started. Having these memories in DVD form will not only allow us to show our families and friends at home what we do in this crazy little group, but it will allow us to keep the DVD’s as records for years to come.
Finally, I would continue keeping our many alumni updated on what is going on in the Masque. These are the people who have built the many traditions (and sets!) that this organization is constantly growing from and they deserve to be kept up to date. I would like to start a monthly newsletter to the alumni, through email to keep them up on our shows, various activities, and the alumni activities that we provide, namely Alumni Night of each show. I have close relationships with many alumni and feel very comfortable speaking to the alumni as a whole on behalf of the group.
I hope this has informed you about my feelings on this very important office in the Masque and that I will see you all on E-Board election day.
If you have any questions, or would like to see the mostly completed Masque tree, feel free to contact me either via email peachy.colleen@gmail.com or at the Masque table, where I am every free period.
There they are. I hope this helps anyone and I would love feedback and questions.i'm peachy.

just an update
oh improv 101.
my boyfriend is sick. and so are the people on his floor, it sounds like. so michele and i have banned him until he is well, not that he would want to travel with what he has. eww.
speaking of vomit (in essence) i'm pissed about the people puking in the private bathroom on our hall. somebody fucked up in raising their kids...good job. they better confess, or the entire hall has to pay for it. cait says it won't be much, but it's the principle of the thing. somebody else ruined a bathroom...not me. and of course, that was the night i decided to stay in and talk to johnny on the phone and do work. if i had been out, i could get out of paying by telling community development that i was out, but i wasn't. so i get punished for deciding not to party one night. fuckers.
that's it. oh! one other thing...
check out this site! you can look up bunches of snl, conan, and other TV clips.

wants and needs
item 1: roommate
I NEED ROOMMATES! i do not want to live in the dorms again next year. i want my own bathroom, or a room shared with limited others. i want a kitchen. i'd love my own room, but i highly doubt that THAT is going to happen. i'm sick of not being able to use all the bathrooms on my hall because some dumb ass puked in the sink, or missed the facilities all together and puked on the floor. i want to not have drunk ass holes running up and down the halls every night. don't people do work at college (i know people do, but sometimes i wonder.). i don't want my living area to also be my bedroom. the gentle hum of the refrigerator is not soothing. someone help me out...i don't want to be a random.
item 2: eboard
i have decided that i will fling myself whole-heartedly into the masque at this point. that and improv. so, i plan to run for eboard this tuesday, hopefully nominated for personnel and ar&r. what a really want is personnel. people like me. i feel i'm approachable. i care about the group and its traditions. and i think that i could throw 2 damn good cast parties, a formal, and some neat social events. all i need now is the chance to actually do that. i'm smart. i care. people in the masque feel that they can talk to me. i'm on time for everything (at school). i'm polite, generally. i'm at the table everyday. i want to be involved in the "business" end of the masque.
item 3: shakespeare
i'm trying out for it. in fact, i'm trying out for every masque show until i graduate.
item 4: spring
this half winter shit is pissing me off. do it right, or don't do it at all, mother nature. i want a blizzard or a heat wave. make a decision woman!
that's all. these are my issues and my concerns. see you masque kiddies on tuesday for the e-board nominations.
i'm peachy.
The Container Store
i'm also really behind on work. my professors can't tell that, and i'm hoping to amend that this afternoon.
i'm peachy.

BEST DAY EVER!
i woke up. after 9 hours of sleep. so, needless to say, i was well rested. i had rehearsal at 2, so i did some errands in the shitty weather (which as a whole was the worst thing about my day...and it wasn't all that bad) and went to rehearsal early. there, i rehearsed and went over my masque tree (don't ask) with chris and gwen. they were impressed, even though the tree will be wrong in a little over a month, but alas...it's quite the start.
i went to dinner with cait and melissa and then we went home to get ready for...
THE PRICE IS RIGHT!
and boy, was it ever. they actually drew my name out of the box to bid on the item against four other people. the item was connect four. so, i used my shopping skills to think about how much a game like that would run. i looked to the audience for guidence as well, mainly michele (she is a price is right genius). i guessed 9.99. i was the first person to go too. well, i was the closest without going over, so i got to play...PLINKO! this is my favorite price is right game because it's all chance. i just had to trust the audience to get extra chips. i got all 3 extra chips, and in the process i won:
- a coffee maker
- a quesadilla maker
- a seat cushion massager (with soothing heat!).
- a bunch of gift cards.
i also won the connect four game. and a toilet seat...don't ask. i gave that to someone. that was amazing enough...but the day got better!!
i came back with my booty and i was talking to john online and for once we both had the time to talk on the phone, which we did for almost an hour. we made some spring break plans and talked about frat and masque stuff. it was so nice to talk to him on the phone. i miss him.
finally, i went into my yahoo email (which i never do) and i see an email from john's brother and his fiancee. they sent me a save the date email for their wedding! i'm so excited. john's family is pretty awesome, so i'm excited to go to another wedding. it's also only 2 weeks after my cousin sasha's wedding, so this should be interesting.
well, i'm off to the townhouses now.
i'm peachy!

Speakeasy and other archaic terms
today was a decent day. i didn't feel well so i didn't go to my first two classes, but sucked it up and went to philosophy where we talked about our papers and didn't learn anything. boo. i then went to lunch and bonded with gwen and amy. davy left today for torino, so we also said our good-byes...check out his blog with the link on the side.
i worked on the tree somemore (i really want personnel!) and washed dishes and cleaned up. after that, it was the speakeasy, so not much there.
more people taped their slideshow segments today, and that always brings me down a little. just thinking about certain people graduating makes me said, now that i know what it's like to have friends who were here at one point and now have gone on to the *gasp* real world.
last night, i went to the copabanana. i just wanted to say that.
tomorrow: manda, rehearsal, and price is right!
i'm peachy (and missing someone terribly)
2.01.2006
You're a Good Man, Dan Rodden
at the end of the slideshow is a dedication to matt demizio, a person i have never met. ever. i didn't start hanging out in C-71 until he stopped coming around, presumably because he was busy doing villanova theatre (momma!). anyway, all i know about matt is what i've heard from those who knew him, and all i've ever heard is good. he seemed to be the most amazing man ever in existance, and somehow i doubt that it's exaggeration. but still what befuddles me is how emotional i got today when i watched the end of the slideshow. i cried, a lot. i have been horomonal lately, but i didn't cry at all through the rest of the show (even the good-byes), just that part. this is when i realized what the masque really does mean to me. i only have handful of friends outside of the masque anymore, which is fine. watching gwen prepare to graduate and stuff has made me wonder what it will all be like 2 years from now when i'm getting ready to leave. hopefully, i'll still have most of the same friends, especially cait and michele, but who will come and blow us all away? i was friends on one level or another with all the active seniors my freshman year, so who knows. this organization is exceptional, at its essence. i honestly can't wait to see what it has in store for us.

who else would help me with the wednesday new york times crossword?
or tell me to skip class on a beautiful day and go into jenkintown to buy rod stewart's greatest hits?

i'm peachy (pin piroette)
Caution: Risk of Fire
if you see me upset in the next couple of days, i'm horomonal. nothing else. it may be brought on by a missing sock, or my own paranoia, but it's really nothing and i'll get over it.
i'm also stressed, so i'm quitting a large number of things in the next couple of days. i'm also not applying for admissions this semester. right now i need to worry about myself and no one else. i will still direct a one act because i can make that on my schedule. woo!
still, spring break cannot come fast enough.
that's all. some may feel that i don't have enough to be stressed over or what not, but everyone's different so there. ha.
i'm peachy.
