You're a Good Man, Dan Rodden

don't ask why, but i just watched the 2005 masque slideshow. i do that when i lose faith in the world or in the masque itself or i need a good, cathartic moment. i recommend it if you're feeling down or whatnot. it does wonders. anyway.

at the end of the slideshow is a dedication to matt demizio, a person i have never met. ever. i didn't start hanging out in C-71 until he stopped coming around, presumably because he was busy doing villanova theatre (momma!). anyway, all i know about matt is what i've heard from those who knew him, and all i've ever heard is good. he seemed to be the most amazing man ever in existance, and somehow i doubt that it's exaggeration. but still what befuddles me is how emotional i got today when i watched the end of the slideshow. i cried, a lot. i have been horomonal lately, but i didn't cry at all through the rest of the show (even the good-byes), just that part. this is when i realized what the masque really does mean to me. i only have handful of friends outside of the masque anymore, which is fine. watching gwen prepare to graduate and stuff has made me wonder what it will all be like 2 years from now when i'm getting ready to leave. hopefully, i'll still have most of the same friends, especially cait and michele, but who will come and blow us all away? i was friends on one level or another with all the active seniors my freshman year, so who knows. this organization is exceptional, at its essence. i honestly can't wait to see what it has in store for us.

besides, where else would i go at lunch?

who else would help me with the wednesday new york times crossword?

or tell me to skip class on a beautiful day and go into jenkintown to buy rod stewart's greatest hits?

who else would take me on a pretzel run at 2 am because i didn't get a part?

or eat ice cream with me after i got the part that they wanted?

who else would be my roommate for two years, even after realizing how crazy i am, just to keep watching conan together, eating cheese and saltines, and making fun of each others faces?

who else but the members of the masque.

i'm peachy (pin piroette)

ps: i am currently missing scott, snazzy, erin, and matt lally like none other.
