i had no idea so many people read this on such a consistant basis. i'm rather pleased. thank you.

so, i have declared this "the summer of megan". not in the david burkowitz way, but in the "this will be the summer i never forget" way. i'm living in a fantastic city, especially for a history nerd like myself. there's culture everywhere. rittenhouse square, shopping, food, shows, museums....and the people. some of my favorite people in the universe live in the area, so i can actually see them this summer. last summer, i just sat at home doing nothing (because that's what we tend to do in enola) and wishing i could be at fun parties with my friends in philly. now i can do that! i can have dinner with them. go to movies! meet new people! solidify friendships! have a lovely time.

i'm also taking a cue from one sam fran and i'm watching the afi movie lists. i started this about 10 years ago, when they first did the AFI 100 years 100 movies list. there are so many lists to choose from. i'm also attempting to read one book a week. granted, until july 21, some of these will be re-reading the harry potter series. however, i'm 3/4 done with the first new book on the pile. "surrender the pink" by carrie fisher (yes...that one). i wanted to have a "postcards from the edge" weekend, by reading the book, then watching the movie. however, the la salle library does not have either the book or the movie...sooo...yeah.

i spent the last week watching star wars alot, because the 30th anniversary of the release of "star wars episode 4: a new hope" was on friday. if you want to waste some serious time AND feel like the kid in wet hot american summer who wears the cape (you know..."a douchebag is a hygenic product". that kid), go to www.wookieepedia.com. it's the star wars wiki...wikipedia, only entirely about star wars. its creepy, but really intense.

i watched "hannah and her sisters" the other day. it was great. really. i really do enjoy a good woody allen flick. if you have any suggestions, please pass them on...i've seen a lot of the ones from the 70's, such as annie hall, love and death, manhattan, sleeper. however, i don't know which other ones to watch. suggest away!
