ok, so i admit i've been very slack in my blogging. i apologize. there's been a lot going on in my life to this point. things have changed greatly since the fourth, but there's no reason to talk about that now. the only thing on my mind today is the boy who lived.
tonight, some 13 hours from now, the final installment of the harry potter series will be officially released and i will have a copy in my possession. then, for the next few days, he will be my constant companion. this isn't difficult as somehow or another i have duty both saturday and sunday nights, in neumann hall no less, so i have nothing better to do than watch movies and read harry potter. i'm going tonight with kate and my best friend amanda to the borders on the avenue of the arts and we shall get our copies of the book. amanda and i also saw 'order of the phoenix' at midnight opening night, so this is becoming a nice trend.
i'm not so sure how happy i am that this book is coming out. i think i'm more sad then anything. i've spent the last 6 years of my life reading about these characters and enjoying wondering what will happen next, and suddenly they will no longer have new adventures. i have my theories, which run much alongside of doug's.
today at work, one of my co-workers said that i reminded them of ginny weasley. that made me very happy.
what else? well...i've been spending a lot of time at the library. watching movies, mainly. next weekend i'm going to the shore for the day, which is exciting since i haven't been in over a year. for once, i think i know where certain aspects of my life are going...it's nice, since i haven't felt that way in over a year. wow...with that considered, the last year wasn't that great in most respects.
on sunday, doug and i went to the decemberist's concert at the mann center, and they played with the mann center festival orchestra. it was amazing, in short terms. i wish they had a live recording of that concert, or one of the concerts that they did in the same style elsewhere. they have this beautiful song about being on stage that might be among my favorite songs ever right now. they use a lot of celtic influence in both their music and their lyrics. download their stuff now...it's wonderful.
other than that, i've been working in community development. not much to say there other than i really enjoy working there. i get to work with my friends and do what i want most of the time. woo.
