The Allen Invasion....

This weekend i was visited by none other than my wifey, sara e. allen. it was the best weekend of break so far. by far. she and my parents picked me up from work at 5 and from there, it was a whirlwind of activities. after dinner we played the longest game of mini-golf ever (not our doing), then we went to visit my sister at work and see a movie at the AMC 8. thank goodness we saw it for free, because "the break up" was not worth paying to see. then we tried to go to rock and bowl, but because of the tall creepy guy, we just left, only to find out that our friends were at the other bowling alley. back home and to bed.

sunday
i had planned a party for sara, so we got up and after breakfast began making food. we also watched mary poppins and some high school shows i was in. oy. then we had lunch (quesadillas!) and got ready for people to arrive. the kitchen was full of people talking and laughing and scaring the living shit out of my cats. silly willly. we then played the traditional game of trivial pursuit, which fred and erin eventually won. after the game was over, most people left, but john, jordan, erin, and fred stayed on for a couple of rounds of subjective guess who (thank you dr. ryan carey). john and erin left, although not at the same time, and fred and jordan stayed until 3:15 to watch "mean girls". fred and brownies are a bad combo.

monday:
no one wanted to eat lunch with us, apparently. we called nik, and he couldn't, and my mom didn't want to either (talk about rejection). finally, jordan said that he would love to, so we all met at roxy's for lunch. after lunch, we went to see my mom and my boss, rosemary. she told us that the state legislature was in session, so we ventured over to the state capitol building to witness some democracy in action. there was a rally going on in the rotunda to increase minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.15 an hour. that would be great. we also went into the house and senate, but both were on recesses of some sort, so it wasn't very exciting. then we went to the state museum, which is hilariously old. we assigned forms of government in mammal hall, crawled through mole holes, sat on a turtle shell, and basically played 'ferris beuller' for a while. then jordan and sara went to get something from jordan's car, and my mom and i went home. sara came back, i made her dinner and got her to the train station in the nick of time! after that, i went to john's to rescue rod stewart.

the end. i'm exhausted

this weekend: philadelphia! wooooo! if you would like to hang out, i'm unavailable on saturday night, but free the rest of saturday and sunday.

i'm peachy.

Hey,

Depending on what time the receital o' fun is done, my friend is throwing a party in honor of the bike race in Manayunk Saturday night (the party itself has nothing to do with biking or racing). Sorry you're getting stuck with the receital - I'd skip out on it if it wasn't my sister's last. But we'll talk about details and such.

Does your person look the type to eat all the good Jelly Belly jellybeans and leave the crappy ones for everyone else?
